Startup behaviour, audio input, text insertion, sounds, and updates.
General
Launch on startup starts OiPer when you log in, so the hotkey is available without opening the app first.
Theme switches between light and dark.
Whisper Hardware selects the backend for local transcription — Auto, CPU, or GPU. See Models for when to change it.
Write to clipboard also copies the result to your clipboard, so you can paste it again yourself if the insertion goes somewhere unexpected.
Input Device
Use system default always records from whatever your operating system currently treats as the default microphone. This is the simplest option and follows headsets as you connect and disconnect them.
Turning it off reveals your input devices as an ordered list that you can drag to reorder. OiPer records from the highest device in the list that is currently available, so putting a headset above the built-in microphone gives you the headset whenever it is plugged in and the built-in microphone otherwise. Unavailable devices are dimmed.
Advanced
Insert method decides how text is delivered to the focused application:

Sound effects are four independent toggles: a sound when recording starts, when it stops, when a run fails, and when no speech was detected. The two failure sounds are on by default and the two recording sounds are off.
Bypass hotkey stops OiPer from suppressing the keys in your hotkey, so they still reach the application underneath. Turn this on if your hotkey shadows a shortcut you need. Changing it restarts the app.
Warnings
When something in your configuration would stop a dictation from working, OiPer shows a warning in the app — a profile whose Whisper model has not been downloaded, a hotkey used by two profiles, a cloud model with no API key, a profile with no hotkey at all, or custom formatting with no prompt written. Fixing the setting clears the warning.
