Terms of Service

The terms for using OiPer Desktop, the OiPer website, and OiPer's hosted services.

Effective August 29, 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and OiPer ("we", "us") covering OiPer Desktop, the oiper.com website, and OiPer's hosted transcription and formatting services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Services.

Using OiPer Desktop

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use OiPer Desktop on devices you control, for as long as you comply with these terms.

You may not resell or sublicense the application, remove or alter its notices, or attempt to circumvent limits on paid features.

Accounts

Local features do not require an account. Paid and hosted features do.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@oiper.com if you believe your account has been compromised. Give us accurate account information and keep it current.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Services to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's rights;
  • record or transcribe people without whatever consent your jurisdiction requires;
  • produce or distribute content that is unlawful, or that harasses, defames, or endangers others;
  • interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or the systems they run on;
  • resell the hosted Services or resell access to them.

Paid features

Local transcription with models you download is free to use.

Hosted transcription and formatting are paid. Prices, plans, and any included allowances are shown at the point of purchase. Fees are charged in advance for the applicable period or as usage is incurred, depending on the plan you choose, and are payable through our payment processor.

You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact support@oiper.com.

We may change prices with reasonable notice, effective from your next billing period.

Third-party providers

In cloud mode, OiPer Desktop sends your data directly to the provider you configure, using your own credentials. Your use of that provider is governed by your agreement with them, not by these terms. We are not responsible for their availability, output, pricing, or handling of your data.

Your content

You keep all rights in the audio you record and the text OiPer produces from it. We claim no ownership of it.

For hosted features, you grant us only the limited licence needed to process your submission and return the result to you.

Automated transcription and rewriting make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing output before you rely on it, and you should not use the Services as the sole basis for decisions where an error would be harmful.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce paid functionality.

Termination

You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services or their users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will survive.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcription output will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to the Services.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
